Community Education Classes
DON'T MISS THIS FREE EVENT FOR KIDS AND PARENTS!
St. Andrew’s Great Hall
900 Stillwater Rd., Mahtomedi
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 6:30-7:30 PM
Participate in this interactive session on personal safety geared to children and their parents.
Instead of ‘stranger danger’, learn how to be smart, not scared, as we work together to build a safe community. Topics include the buddy system, checking first, secrets vs. surprises, 5 trusted adults, listening to your “uh-oh” feeling, and body ownership. Never fear-based, this material is covered in a way that empowers children.
Presenter Alison Feigh has been working in the prevention field for more than 18 years and is Director of Jacob Wetterling Resource Center, a program of Zero Abuse Project. In her role as a subject matter expert on child and teen safety, she works to help prevent childhood abuse and abductions. As a classmate of Jacob Wetterling, she learned early on how important it is to protect children and youth from exploitation.
Empower Me! is sponsored by St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church and Mahtomedi Community Education.
