History with Kathy Simmer: Prophets and Pioneers: History of the Mormons

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the Mormons, had an interesting influence on America's history.  This seminar explores Joseph Smith’s founding of the faith and his subsequent murder by a mob, the causes of strife between the Saints and their neighbors, the issue of polygamy, and their settlement of the kingdom of Zion in Utah.  These were people of determination, efficiency and faith, as well as subjects of controversy and military action.
Tuesday, July 16 10-noon
